The article presented by Transitec at SATC in Pretoria builds on work carried out with the paratransit sector in Ghana, in partnership with the Department of Transport of Accra Metropolitan Assembly. Using digital technologies, comprehensive data was collected on minibus transport services – locally known as “trotros” – operating out of the Kaneshie station in Accra. This exercise allowed the authorities to gain unprecedented insight into the operations of this industry, paving the way for improvements of the sector.
