The city of Agadir finalized its Urban Mobility Plan in 2010 and is currently implementing it. In addition to the development of public transport, through the creation of BRT lines, and the strengthening of the road network, the Plan recommends a reorganization of the road network and the parking set-up. Transitec is in charge of this last portion, which intends to draw a general concept for the road network hierarchy and the parking policy. A special focus will be made on active modes and reduction of traffic in the city-center, to increase the quality of life for the residents and make the city more attractive to national and international tourists. Certain areas will be studied carefully, such as the seaside area, the administrative center, the Souk El Had and the University area.
