From 23 to 25 January, the C40 network is organising a workshop in Johannesburg on the integration and improvement of paratransit. Transitec has been asked to provide its expertise on the regulation of this sector.
C40, a global network of nearly 100 mayors of the world’s leading cities that are united in action to confront the climate crisis, is organising a workshop on pratransit from 23 to 25 January.
Bringing together representatives from various African cities (Johannesburg, Cape Town, eKurhuleni, eThekwini, Tshwane, Accra, Lagos and Nairobi) in Johannesburg, the C40 team is leading a discussion on the challenges of integrating and improving paratransit, based on technical visits, practical exercises and contributions from experts.
Julien Allaire, Transitec's Director of International Operations, as well as Nico McLachlan - head of ODA -, has been invited to take part in this event. He presented the lessons learnt from the regulatory model implemented since 2011 in the city of Kigali by the Rwandan authorities to support the development of the public transport.
